Las Piñas police record peaceful conduct of plebiscite for territorial boundaries

The Las Piñas City police recorded a peaceful and orderly conduct of plebiscite for territorial boundaries of the city’s 20 barangays on Saturday, June 29.

According to Las Piñas City Police Chief Col. Sando Tafalla, they have not recorded any untoward incident during the conduct of plebiscite since the start of voting at 7 a.m. up to its closing time at 3 p.m.

Tafalla together with Commission on Election (Comelec) officials conducted inspection at different polling precincts for the peaceful and orderly conduct of plebiscite.

The city police chief said deployed policemen at the polling precincts were reminded to implement prohibited acts during the conduct of plebiscite.

Tafalla said the police deployed several personnel at different polling precincts on Friday, June 28 to ensure the safety and security during the voting process.

He said the preparation was made for the police’s readiness to maintain peace and order during the conduct of plebiscite, prevent fraud, protect the voters, enforce the election law and to immediately respond to any incident.

For the part of the city government, Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the deployment of the teams from City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) and the City Health Office (CHO) at the different polling precinct.

Aguilar said first aid stations of CHO were stationed at different polling precinct to immediately respond to those who are in need of medical assistance.

She said the ambulance and search and rescue teams of CDRRMO were also deployed to ensure the safety of voters.
