Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, chief of the Philippine National Police, was among the principal sponsors in the wedding officiated by Police Major Rhey Dollesin, PRO-8 regional pastoral officer.

Marbil initiated the “Kasalang Pulis sa Rehiyon Otso,” a mass wedding held twice a year since February 2022.

During his stint as PRO-8 director, Marbil aimed to provide personnel with the blessing of matrimony to recognize the importance of family life and the PNP’s commitment to family, community engagement, and personnel well-being.

A traditional reception was held at the RTR Medical Foundation College Gymnasium here. It included the grand entrance of the newlyweds and other wedding practices such as cake slicing, the parade of wines, wine toast, and a same-day edit audio-visual presentation.

PRO-8 Director Police Brig. Gen. Reynaldo Pawid cited the initiative as a model program and congratulated the newlyweds, adding that the occasion is a testament to the unwavering love and commitment of the police officers etching itself into the history of PRO-8.
